“I am going to try to pay attention to the spring. I am going to look around at all the flowers and look up at the hectic trees. I am going to close my eyes and listen.” ~Anne Lamott.
This Spring I will look and listen, and share what I notice and learn in my journal.
Today I celebrated the first day of Spring by doing a collage garden workshop at Heritage Hill. It turned out to be the perfect day, as I walked in the garden and found something to sketch. I am hopeless when it comes to sketching but the act of putting something on paper provided inspiration to me in an unexpected way. Instead of trying to control my picture, I just thought of spring and my picture of a green plant in a pot, with violets was my inspiration. It showed up in its own way on my piece of paper, and I was proud of my efforts.
When I got home I sat down outside in the garden enjoying the first day of spring with my journal. I soaked in the sun, and admire the camellias alternating white and red flowers, and the blue intensity of the sky. Spring time, a time to birth new ideas and projects. A time to enjoy getting out into the garden. A time to watch the budding of new growth in the garden and in my life.
Wishing you a wonderful week!
